Local financial data

Pwallet is a local-first personal finance application. Accounts, transactions, income, expenses, debts, instalments, plans, reports and backups are stored on the user's device. Pwallet does not automatically upload these financial records to the activation service.

Pro activation

When a user enters a 12-character Pro activation code, the app sends that code and its Pwallet device identifier to the Pwallet activation service over HTTPS. The service checks that the code belongs to that device and returns a digitally signed licence. After successful activation, licence validation is performed locally and the app can continue working offline until the licence expires.

The activation service stores a one-way hash of the short code and device identifier, the signed licence token, plan, expiry date, registration time and redemption count. It does not receive the customer's name, phone number or financial records from the Pwallet app.

Sharing, security and retention

Pwallet does not sell activation or financial data. Activation data is used only to provide, restore, protect and administer a Pro licence. Transmission is encrypted with HTTPS. Service infrastructure may process ordinary technical request data needed to deliver and protect the service.

Licence records are retained as needed to administer the licence and prevent misuse. A user may request deletion or support by contacting Pwallet. Deleting an active server record can prevent future licence restoration on that device.

Backups and external apps

Users can create and restore their own JSON backups. When a user chooses to share a backup by email or another app, delivery is handled by that external app and its provider under their own privacy terms.
